I grew up in Albuquerque

I grew up in Albuquerque – that's me playing baseball for Inez Elementary -- and have lived in Senate District 15 for the last 21 years.

This is where my wife Sandra and I raised our two children, Andrew and Katy. This spring we celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary.

 

This community has been so good to me. I believe in giving something back. That's why I'm proud to be your New Mexico State Senator.

Public Service

  • Elected to New Mexico State Senate in 2008
  • Elected to AMAFCA Board (3 terms) where he led the successful effort to reduce residential property taxes
  • Elected youngest Bernalillo County Treasurer in history (2 terms); cut red tape and modernized office
  • As Director of N.M. Property Tax Division, challenged oil and gas industry to pay fair share of taxes to support education
